Welcome to Peel Maternity & Family Practice
an exciting concept in the care of mums and their new babies
Peel Maternity & Family Practice is a private GP-Obstetric led practice. At Peel Maternity we can help you through your pregnancy along with your other health care needs. With our General Practice Obstetricians and General Practice doctors, we aim to provide a service that is within reach of everyone, as we believe everyone should have access to excellent healthcare. Your family health care needs are our top priority. You do not need a referral, just call and book an appointment.
As our patient, we can care for you after birth for routine general practice matters with our General Practitioners.
A Standard GP Consult is $78.00 with a Medicare rebate of $37.05. The Antenatal visit costs $95.10 with a Medicare rebate of $40.10.
There are three antenatal classes at Peel Maternity for the different stages of pregnancy.
Pregnancy Essentials (18-24 weeks): is a brainstorming session focusing on the health impact of pregnancy on the mother’s body but also on a couple/family. Financial implications are also discussed. Our in-house physiotherapist is able to offer recommendations on how to avoid back problems and the importance of pelvic floor exercises.
Bringing baby home (26-32 weeks): covers the effects of bringing a baby home on the relationship at home with both partner, siblings and other family members. Our midwife also discusses changes in mother’s mood and body.
Preparation for childbirth (32-36 weeks): this is the final class led by one of our midwives covering the birth including stages of labour, pain relief and breastfeeding.
Physiotherapist & Psychologist
Along with our well-known holistic obstetric service General Practitioners, our Physiotherapist and Psychologist are available to help with other healthcare needs.
