Teen Mops

TEEN MOPS is dedicated to meeting the needs of every mother of preschoolers, including teenage girls who are filling the role of "mum" while they are still growing up themselves.

Our group will provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where teen mums can come together for support and encouragement. In Teen MOPS, the teaching, activities and friendships are all focused on the very distinct needs of teenagers. Teen MOPS helps teen mums become more self-sufficient, confident, mature, giving and self-aware young women.

Teen MOPS will be meeting at MBC, Cnr Pinjarra road and Rio Grande Drive, Mandurah, every fortnight on a Thursday. First meeting will be May 12th, 2011 – 9.30am to 11.30am.

All meetings encourage young mothers to voice their frustrations, fears and joys while knowing that their children are well taken care of in the MOPPETS program. If the girls do not have their children with them (ie, they have started kindy, pre-school or are with relatives) they can definitely still come! The group is primarily about the young women themselves, not a play group.

Teen MOPS Offers

• Teaching by women past their teen years who can share insights on motherhood, child rearing, relationships, and other topics of interest to teen mums.
• Discussion groups in an open, caring atmosphere where mums are free to share their ideas and feelings with each other.
• The opportunity to express creativity through crafts and life-skills.
• Leadership training and development.
• A chance to be with other teen mums who share similar circumstances.
• A place of encouragement, where motherhood is valued and women are special, no matter what their status, education, or personal issues.
• The opportunity to build friendships with other young women, as well as the  MOPS Mentors.

Toddler Jam

Toddler Jam is a playgroup for children, run on a Tuesday morning from 9.30am to about 11am. MBC, Pinjarra Road, Mandurah

We start with our music program with lots of singing and dancing and percussion time Then the children are provided with morning tea of fruit, biscuit and water whilst the Mums have a coffee and some cake. The children also have some free play time before they leave. The music program goes for about 40 minutes. It is $5 if you have one child or capped at $7 if you have more than one.
