Second trimester screening
Second trimester screening can be done if First Trimester screening is too late or not available.  Second Trimester screening (also called a maternal serum screen, MSS or triple test) is a blood test that gives an indication if the baby is at risk of having a chromosomal abnormality like Down syndrome.  This test is performed between 15 & 17 weeks.

Fetal anatomy scan (FAS)
This ultrasound scan is performed between 18 – 20 weeks gestation.  This scan checks the position of the placenta, amniotic fluid level, the baby’s growth.  Also it looks at the brain, spinal cord, kidneys, heart and limbs.
