Peel Maternity and Family Practice is a Private billing practice and we ask that all patients settle their accounts in full on the day of service. For individual billing items, please call our office and talk to the Administrator.

Most patients can claim a Medicare rebate, which covers part of the fee. The difference between the Medicare rebate and our fee is known as the GAP payment, or your out of pocket expense. We are able to process your account electronically and claim back your Medicare rebate on the same day.

Please talk to the receptionist when booking an appointment about our charges for your appointments, as they vary depending on time and complexity and whether you have a scan. Also Medicare increases their fees every year so there is an annual change.

We do discount for Pensioners and Health Care Card holders, although an out of pocket expense does still occur. We do bulk bill children under 16 years of age.

Medicare Card

If you do not have a Medicare Card, we will require you to pay in full for all of your appointments, and also pay a deposit to cover the birth of your baby at the Hospital, as well as paying for the delivery in full before you deliver.
